Do anoles make noise?
A: Green anoles do not vocalize. Most of my google searches are anole-related lately!
The anoles are doing well. I spotted one drinking from the tiny water cup I put out. I also found two of them sunning themselves in a ray of sunlight, both clinging to the basement wall for optimal light angle. One moves around a lot, one prefers one side of the garage over the other. Personalities and tendencies are emerging!
I’m rethinking my reading strategy for 2024. I’ve read ~48 books so far for 2023, and a lot of them have been via the library on the Libby app. While this is a super helpful strategy during bouts of insomnia because I can read in the middle of the night without turning any lights on, I generally don’t enjoy the digital reading experience as much. I’ve read some wonderful books this year, but also have a lot of wonderful PHYSICAL books in my home. Most of them, but not all, I want to read. What if I just read those books next year? I’m not sure how many I have, but it feels like a good challenge to limit my next read to my bookshelf.
I’m SURE I will buy more books in the next year, and I will no doubt check out a few from the library too, but the vast majority will be hard copy and already in my home.
I would also be happy to do a book swap with anyone interested! It would be a fun way to add a ‘new’ book to my shelf while passing along a book I enjoyed.
