Creative relaxation
a happy side effect of my first CreativeBug class
Staying true to my creative goals for the year, I started taking a Creativebug class led by the wonderful Lisa Congdon called, “Developing your visual vocabulary: A daily practice in mark making”. It is one of the most relaxing creative playing I’ve done in quite a while! Sitting down with colored pencils, watercolor, and fun pens to make repetitive marks on a page feels like a mini vacation for my brain. Something about it allows the thinking part of my mind to quiet down and a different part takes over. I still have many sessions to go because it is a 31 day class. I’m having a nagging urge to dabble in collage as well, so I will use these doodle pages as collage material and explore the CreativeBug classes in collage to fuel my interest.
Speaking of Lisa Congdon, I love her distinctive style and creative voice. Bright colors! Fun shapes! Bold imagery! If you are unfamiliar with her work, you can see it here.
